* ICC WORLD CUP : After a robust start australia collapse against cohost New Zealand in a crucial pool ‘A’ fixture at Auckland; lose more than half the side for just hundred runs. And India to meet UAE in their third group match at Perth today.

*Today is National Science Day. On this day, the nation pays tributes to the legacy of the great scientist, Dr C V Raman, who brought Nobel Prize in Science to Asia and India for the first time for his epoch-making discovery Raman Effect.

Professor Raman disclosed this discovery to the world on 28th of February, 1928 and he was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1930. The theme of this year is Science for Nation Building.

An official of Ministry of Science and technology said, this year’s theme has been chosen for the purpose of raising public appreciation on scientific issues for the development of nation.

As per the World Health Organization estimates, around half of those between the ages of 12 and 35 in middle-and high-income countries are at risk due to unsafe levels of sound on personal audio devices or smart phones. Another 40% are at risk from damaging audio levels at concert venues and night clubs.

After the independence, to commemorate Chandra Shekhar Azad, Alfred Park, where Chandra Shekhar Azad shot himself was renamed Chandra Shekhar Azad Park.

‪#‎Mumbai‬’s Special TADA court sentences fugitive gangster ‪#‎AbuSalem‬ to life imprisonment in the 1995 ‪#‎PradeepJainmurder‬ case.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that the court has sentenced #AbuSalem and his accomplice,‪#‎MehendiHassan‬, to life imprisonment.

He clarified that the prison term will last till the natural life of the convicts. He also informed that both the convicts have been fined 3 lakh rupees each.

'#Mumbai’s Special TADA court sentences fugitive gangster #AbuSalem to life imprisonment in the 1995 #PradeepJainmurder case.

Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Public Prosecutor Ujjwal Nikam said that the court has sentenced #AbuSalem and his accomplice, #MehendiHassan, to life imprisonment.

‪#‎US‬ President ‪#‎BarackObama‬ has endorsed India’s candidature for the permanent membership of the reformed ‪#‎UN‬ Security Council.

‪#‎WhiteHouse‬ Press Secretary Josh Earnest said yesterday that India’s permanent membership to the #UN security council is among a variety of other important reforms to the United Nations that Mr Obama has endorsed.

Mr Earnest, however, said that he has no updates on the status of the ongoing reforms to the UN or efforts to try to bring about some of those reforms.
